Accordingly, MobiFone is the second operator receiving the license for testing 5G services in Viet Nam. MobiFone will pilot 5G services in Ha Noi, Da Nang, Hai Phong, and HCMC from April 23, 2019 until April 22, 2020.

Minister Hung said that “Viet Nam should be among the first nations to launch 5G services in order to move up in global telecom rankings.” Minister Hung was hopeful that Viet Nam could become a leading exporter of 5G equipment, and so is looking to encourage domestic development.

Earlier, the Ministry of Information and Communications granted a one-year 5G testing service license from January 22, 2019 to January 21, 2020./.
