Seminar looks at ways to boost VN-Indonesia cooperation

VNGOVNet – At the initiative of Indonesia, a seminar under the theme "Building up the Vietnam-Indonesia strategic partnership" was held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia on December 18-19, 2006.

Attendants to the seminar were senior officials of the two countries’ ministries of Foreign Affairs, Trade, National Defense and many scholars. Participants agreed that the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Indonesia has developed well in many fields over the past 50 years, especially since the issuance of "Common Declaration on the Framework for the Friendly and Comprehensive Partnership into the 21st Century" in June 2003. They stressed the need to enhance the relation in commensurate to the great friendship, cooperation potentialities and desires of the two peoples. At the end of the seminar, the delegates agreed that, in the time to come, the two countries should set up an Action Program to realize the Common Declaration and renew the existing regime of cooperation to develop the Vietnam-Indonesia relationship to a new height.
