Hà Nội’s CPI rose 9.44% compared to the level at the beginning of the year, according to the municipal statistics department.
Eight out of ten groups of consumer goods saw small rises ranging from 0.18-0.93% over the last month.

The eight groups include beverage and tobacco, garment, footwear, water and electricity, fuel and construction materials, household equipment and appliances, medicine and health service, sports and entertainment.

Meanwhile, the prices of transport, post and telecommunication and education jumped by 2.51% and 5.18%, respectively.
The price of gold rose by 1.69% over August and by 11.3% against the figure of the same period last year.

In the biggest center, Hồ Chí Minh City, CPI has risen by 5.72% in the first three quarters and 4.29% against one year ago.

Here, high increases have been seen in catering services (1.22%), beverage and tobacco (1.18%), transport, post and telecommunication (2.16%), and education (13.34%).

The increase in catering services is attributed to the Việt Nam Food Association’s purchase of 400,000 tons of summer-autumn rice.

The readjusted gasoline price of VND 1,000 per liter since August 30 has pushed up the prices of transport, post and telecommunication.
