Shipment to India soars 32%
VGP – Two-way trade volume between Viet Nam and India touched US$ 5.237 billion in 2013, up 32.8% against 2012, according to the General Department of Viet Nam Customs.
Viet Nam shipped US$ 2.354 billion of goods to India, representing a year-on-year increase of 32%. Meanwhile, Viet Nam imported US$ 2.883 billion, up 33.4% against 2012.
The country's five biggest export commodities to India included telephone and spare parts (US$ 926 million); equipment (US$ 242 million); computers and spare parts (US$ 231 million); rubber (US$ 211 million), and chemical substances (US$ 61 million).
The country chiefly imported iron (US$ 353 million), foodstuff for castle (US$ 338 million), maize (US$ 304 million), medicine (US$ 248 million) and machines and equipment (US$ 194 million) from India./.
