This is the second visit of PM Robert Fico to Viet Nam after he was re-elected this April.

Via the tour, the visiting PM hoped to meet with Vietnamese top leaders to deliberate ways and means to ratchet up the traditional friendship and multi-dimensional affiliation between the two countries.

Especially, the guest leader expected to step up connections across economics, trade, investment, and education-training. Regional and international issues of shared concerns will be put on the table for discussion.

Viet Nam and Slovakia set up diplomatic relations in 1950. The two-way trade turnover fetched US$ 1.2 billion last year. Slovakia is currently the biggest Central European investor in Viet Nam./.
