Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân said that it is necessary to give frank feedbacks to help the NA and the Government work out proper policies on socio-economic development. The participants’ ideas will help address short-term issues to start restructuring the economy in the coming time.

According to Director of Việt Nam Institute of Economics Trần Đình Thiên, restructuring should be regarded as the key approach to curbing inflation, which will help to stabilize the macro economy and revive businesses in a number of sectors and preparing them for a new period of growth.

The Director named three sectors to be prioritized for restructuring, specifically public investment, the commercial banking system and state-owned enterprises.

Director Thiên added that it is also necessary to review the payments system in the State sector, as he sees it as the best way of improving the State apparatus’s effectiveness and gaining the publics trust./.
