State, NA leaders receive guests from Spain, Brazil

VGP – State President Nguyễn Minh Triết and NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng on Thursday separately hosted receptions given to Spanish Princess Cristina Federica Mr. Damiao Feliciano, Chairman of the Committee for External Relations and National Defense of the House of Representatives of Brazil.

Welcoming the Spanish Princess who is staying in Việt Nam for a meeting of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI), State President Nguyễn Minh Triết stated that Việt Nam highly spoke of the role and position of Spain in the European Union and the world.

Mentioning his upcoming State-level visit to Spain next month, President Triết expressed his hop to discuss with the Spanish King and other senior leaders measures to bring the bilateral relationship to a new height.

In his meeting with Mr. Damiao Feliciano, Chairman of the Committee for External Relations and National Defense of the House of Representatives of Brazil, in Hà Nội, NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng hailed Brazil’s decision to erase Việt Nam in the list of anti-dumping investigation and its approval of the list of 60 Vietnamese companies to export marine products to Brazil.

Mr. Damiao asserted that, when both Brazil and Việt Nam are sparing no effort to mitigate impacts of the global financial and economic crisis, they should cement and deepen economic cooperation and trade exchanges in order to raise their two-way trade turnover to US $1 billion soon.
