The Vietnamese Head of State said the visit made by DPRK top legislator to Vietnam would effectively contribute to consolidating and enhancing the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Both sides affirmed their desire to strengthen the bilateral ties for the sake of the two nations and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region.
They agreed to maintain high-ranking contacts, boost economic cooperation in a more practical manner. The Inter-governmental Committee for economic and scientific cooperation needs to discuss ways to remove legal barriers and intensify information exchange
The two sides also agreed to boost cooperation in the fields of agriculture, culture and arts, education and training.
Regarding regional and international issues, the leaders pledged to maintain close coordination at forums like ARF, enhance information sharing on issues of common concern.
State President Sang re-affirmed Vietnam’s consistent policy of supporting a peaceful, stable and nuclear-free Korean Peninsula.
Vietnam hopes that relevant parties should take concrete actions to accelerate the denuclearization process on the Korean Peninsula and supports dialogue, reconciliation, cooperation and peace on the Peninsula.
For East Sea issue, President Kim Yong-nam voiced his support for settling disputes and emerging issues through peaceful negotiations in order to foster friendship anong relevant stakesholders and secure peace and stability in the region.
On the oocasion, State President Sang also extended his deep condolences to President Kim Yong-nam and Korean people over the damages caused by recent natural disaster in DPRK. He also informed that Vietnam has decided to present 5,000 tons of rice to the Northeast Asian country.
