State President Tran Dai Quang made that statement at his reception for a delegation from the Japan-Viet Nam Economic Committee at the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) on July 31 in Ha Noi.

The State leader highly appraised the cooperation and assistance of Keidanren- the largest and most powerful economic corporation in Japan-for Viet Nam in improving its investment environment and its role as a bridging role for Japanese businesses to invest in Viet Nam, thus promoting their Strategic Partnership.

Viet Nam will create favorable conditions and join hand with Japanese businesses to launch long-term and sustainable operation in Viet Nam in the spirit of mutual interests, asserted Mr. Quang.

He asked Keidanren to continue enhancing Japanese enterprises to invest in prioritized areas in Viet Nam, especially in the areas that Japan supports Viet Nam during its industrialization strategy within Viet Nam-Japan cooperation framework, heading to 2020, with a vision to 2030 such as high-tech agriculture, aquatic processing, electronics, agricultural machines, environmental protection, energy saving, oil and gas and automobile production.

Referring to Japan’s investment in Viet Nam reaching US$9 billion in 2017, Mr. Kuniharu Nakamura, Chairman of the Keidanren's Japan-Viet Nam Economic Committee confirmed that Keidanren expects to cooperate with Viet Nam in improvement of competitiveness, human resources training and granting more scholarships for Vietnamese students.

He highly spoke of Viet Nam’s measures to upgrade its investment and business environments, supposing that the Viet Nam-Japan Joint Initiative has helped attract more investment in Viet Nam.

Japanese businesses desire to launch high-quality infrastructure projects in form of   public–private partnership (PPP), he asserted, adding that Keidanren will continuously coordinate with Viet Nam to realize the Viet Nam-Japan Joint Initiative in the future.

Keidanren is the comprehensive economic organization in Japan, consisting 1,340 Japan’s top businesses, 109 national industrial associations and 47 regional and local economic organizations.
