The State President spoke highly of the role of the Keidanren, and in particular the Việt Nam-Japan Economic Committee, in boosting the trade and investment partnership between the two countries.

According to Mr. Sang, together with the flow of Official Development Assistance from Japan to Việt Nam, the economic ties between the two countries will continue to grow.

The host leader suggested that the federation should help encourage more enterprises to invest in Việt Nam in the fields of high-technology, infrastructure, human resources training and the environment.

Việt Nam would continue to create favorable conditions for Japanese enterprises to invest in Việt Nam, Mr. Sang added.

For his part, Keidanren’s Chairman Yonekura Hiromasa said that this visit is an important opportunity for representatives of leading Japanese economic groups to discuss their proposals with Vietnamese State and Party leaders.

Mr. Hiromasa suggested Việt Nam pay more attention to developing support industries.

Japanese enterprises are willing to share expertise in human resources training, infrastructure development and technology with Việt Nam.

The same day, State President Sang also received a business delegation of Ceylon Chamber Commerce from Sri Lanka.

The State President welcomed the visit of the Sri Lanka businessmen for investment opportunities in Việt Nam, proposing that the two commerce chambers should strive to boost two-way trade to US$1 billion in the coming time./.
