State President talks ways to boost ties with China

VGP – Viet Nam always attaches importance to consolidating and enhancing the strategic partnership with China, State President Truong Tan Sang told Chinese media.

In the current context, both countries need a peaceful and stable environment to zero in on socio-economic development, he said.

To further boost the bilateral ties, the Vietnamese head of State stressed the necessity to broaden political trust, particularly through maintaining exchanges of high-ranking delegations.

The two sides should expand cooperation in various fields, especially in economics, trade, investment, education and tourism for mutual interests.

They need to ceaselessly promote the traditional friendship and enrich the content of the bilateral exchanges and cooperation.

Both sides should also be preserving in properly addressing divergences through peaceful measures, friendly negotiations and on the basis of international law.

Regarding the East Sea issue, State President Sang said this is the “vital matter”, thus, leaders of the two countries need to maintain regular exchanges and dialogues to settle it in a peaceful manner.

State President Sang expects that during his visit to China, the two sides will frankly and sincerely discuss on the issue.

The State President also called for humanitarian treatment to fishermen.

On the occasion, he called on the two nations to nurture the Viet Nam-China friendship as a precious asset.

Only through friendship, cooperation, and mutual respect, can we advance our ties in the way that people of the two countries expect, according to State President Sang./.
