Ha Noi, Februray 9, 2013

Compatriots, comrades and soldiers,

At the very moment of welcoming the Lunar New Year of Snake 2013, I would like to convey my best wishes to all fellow-citizens, comrades and soldiers in all corners of the countries as well as all Vietnamese overseas. On behalf of the State and people of Viet Nam, I would like to extend to all nations in the world greetings of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.

Compatriots, comrades and soldiers,

In the Year of Dragon 2012, we witnessed and made great efforts to overcome a lot of difficulties and challenges along the country’s path of development. Those might be not final challenges. Facing difficulties, our nation’s valuable tradition is to bring into full play our solidarity in order to create our aggregate strength.

Welcoming the New Year of Snake 2013 is also the point where each and every Vietnamese family and person, once again, memorize our predecessors’ deeds of national construction and protection. Successive generations of Vietnamese people have sweated their blood and tears and even their lives, through struggles, sacrifices, labor and creativity, for the Fatherland to be what it is today. Our accountability is to inherit the glorious career from our ancestors, to build up, protect and develop this land richer, more beautiful and more sustainable.

It is the deep sentiment and honorable mission of each and every of us.

Compatriots, comrades and soldiers,

In the New Year, we will use every condition and chance, overcoming all difficulties and challenges, weaknesses and shortcomings, in order to promote the cause of doi moi, striving to fulfill two strategic missions of building and protecting our beloved Viet Nam country.

By joining our efforts, we are sure to succeed.

Sincere!

Truong Tan Sang
