State President’s first activities in India

VGP – State President and his spouse have arrived in Bangalore-the capital city of Karnataka state on Tuesday afternoon, beginning his official visit to India.

The Vietnamese leader met with Governor S.Hans Raj Bhardwaj of Karnataka state where he was introduced about recent developments of the 3rd biggest city in India.

Bangalore is now the South Asian country’s software center, which is also known as the first “Silicon Valley” in Asia. The city’s software export reached US $1.2 billion annually.

This is also a tertiary city with 120 universities of international standards. Over 500 Vietnamese students are studying there.

Regarding relations with Việt Nam, Governor of the Southwestern Indian Karnataka state said that the city has welcomed a number of business delegations from Việt Nam to seek trade and investment opportunities.

He said India’s big firms are ready to meet Việt Nam’s demand for high technologies, telecommunication, information technology.

State President Sang expressed his pleasure at visiting the city and spoke highly of the achievements made by Bangalore city and Karnataka state as well.

 The Vietnamese Head of State called on Bangalore-based big firms to develop high tech parks in Việt Nam, considering it the symbol of the traditional friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries.

He hoped that the Karnataka authorities would create favorable conditions for Vietnamese students in Bangalore, contributing to the improvement of the workforce quality of Việt Nam’s software and computing sector.

On the occasion, State President Sang re-affirmed Việt Nam’s consistent policy of consolidating and enhancing the traditional friendship and strategic partnership with India.

On the same day, State President Trương Tấn Sang and his spouse visited Infosys group./.
