Under the resolution, an 8% rise in monthly salary will be applied on three groups of people, including retirees, people with special contributions to the Vietnamese revolution, and civil servants who have a salary coefficient of 2.34 or lower.

Accordingly, the budget revenue is projected at 921 trillion VND, while spending will be 1,147.1 trillion VND. This translates into a deficit of VND 226 trillion, equivalent to 5%of GDP.

The NA also assigned the Government to pursue a tight fiscal policy; prevent wastefulness and corruption in allocating State budget; spend State budget carefully; and improve the quality of investigations and administrative disciplines.

The Government was tasked to strengthen measures to combat illegal trafficking, trade frauds, tax evasion and reduce tax debts./.
