The 176 scientists behind the 32 winning projects come from five fields, including natural sciences, social sciences and humanities, science and technology, agricultural and medical sciences.

Twelve projects received Hồ Chí Minh prizes and the 20 others were presented with State prizes.
This is the first time that foreign scientists have also been honored for their participation in the prize-winning projects.

Noteworthy of the winners are theories on Party building for a ruling Party, Việt Nam’s Fauna and Flora as well as the country’s Red Book and Red List.

On addressing the presentation ceremony, State President Sang highlighted the contributions made by Vietnamese scientists. This is the fourth time that Hồ Chí Minh and State prizes for science and technology have been awarded which, he said, is highly significant and helps with the nation’s socio-economic development and construction.

The State President said he believes that the scientific community will make even more breakthroughs which will greatly help the country and match with the Vietnamese people’s intellectual potential.

The awards are granted every five years to honor outstanding scientists./.
