Supportive fund for HIV/AIDS-infected people founded

VNGOP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng signed on May 07 Decision 60/2007/QĐ-TTg establishing the Supportive Fund for HIV/AIDS-infected People in medical examination and treatment.

According to the Decision, the Fund aims to assist disadvantaged HIV/AIDS-infected patients in accessing medical examination and treatment at central and local clinics; pay for medical examination and treatment expenses of HIV/AIDS patients without medical insurance; and pay for meal during their treatment. The Fund is also used to support the spouse and children of the disadvantaged HIV/AIDS-infected people as well as the facilities caring the HIV/AIDS patients.

The State budget will provide an initial grant to pay for the Fund's equipment purchase and the money raising activities.

The Ministry of Finance will collaborate with the Ministry of Health to instruct the management and use of the Fund in line with the purposes and principles of equality and transparency.
