Sweet memories of Hà Nội
VGP – Photographer Nguyễn Hữu Cấy’s 150 photos on Hà Nội are displayed at 45 Tràng Tiền Street, Hà Nội, providing the audience with a panorama of the capital city’s development over the last half of the century.

Returning Hà Nội after settling in Hồ Chí Minh City for years, the nearly 80-year-old photographer Nguyễn Hữu Cấy wants to donate the capital city his 150 black-and-white photos on Hà Nội through his first photo exhibition.
The exhibits are selected from the artist’s private archives which has been carefully preserved for nearly 60 years.

His photos display familiar scenes of Hà Nội such as the One-Pillar Pagoda, Long Biên Bridge, Đồng Xuân Market, Temple of Literature, Sword Lake, West Lake, Old Quarter, and others.
The audience can also recall different historical stages of the capital city when watching the photos depicting the army taking over the city in 1954; leaders of the Party and State receiving international guests; the funeral of President Hồ Chí Minh in 1969; and many daily activities.

The proliferative artist once published his photo book "Việt Nam in My Heart" which was praised by General Võ Nguyên Giáp as a pictorial history book.
