TPP adds hope to businesses

VGP – Vietnam regards the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) as an important trade agreement as it is expected to profoundly affect the future operation of numerous sectors and enterprises, said an official.

Mr. Tran Huu Huynh, Head of the Legal Department under the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) said at a seminar held in Hanoi on Wednesday.

The seminar aimed to update the developments of the negotiation for the TPP and discuss related issues with representatives from enterprises and associations. 

Vietnam became an observer of the TPP at the end of 2009 and has officially joined the negotiation rounds of talk since November 2010.

So far, 12 rounds of negotiation have been taken. The latest was held in the US on May 18.

A large number of Vietnamese enterprises are expected of the signing of TPP.

However, experts suggested that they should prepare for necessary criteria like goods orientations and professional skills to benefit from the agreement./.
