Taking more loans from ADB for poverty reduction
VGP – Permanent Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng gave nod to the State Bank of Việt Nam’s proposals for negotiating with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) the Credit Agreement and related documents for loans to finance the poverty reduction program V of the Sub-program 2.
The Deputy PM authorized SBV Governor to sign the Letter of Development Policy and send it to ADB before the negotiations which are scheduled in late August and early September 2009 in Hà Nội.
SBV, as the negotiator of Việt Nam, must coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to complete necessary procedures for the negotiations with ADB.
Earlier, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng approved the results of the negotiations, contents of the Credit Agreement and related documents for the ADB loans to finance the poverty reduction program V of the Sub-program 1.
ADB is supporting Việt Nam’s poverty alleviation programs, focusing on three major fields: promoting sustainable growth, comprehensive social development and national management over poverty reduction goals.
