Ten more COVID-19 infection cases confirmed, total rises to 163

The Ministry of Health has confirmed 10 more COVID-19 infection cases in Viet Nam, bringing the nation’s patient tally to 163.

Vietnamese people are encouraged to stay indoor as the number of infection cases has rapidly increased over the past three weeks to 163

Four of the latest infection cases are foreigners entering Viet Nam between March 21-23 and they have been immediately quarantined upon their arrivals.

Three of the rest had been in close contact with previously announced patients who visted the Buddha Bar in Ho Chi Minh City.

And the last three were linked to patient No. 133 who was a patient of Ha Noi’s Bach Mai hospital.

Patient 154 is a 23-year old female student from Ha Long city of Quang Ninh Province.

She returned the Mekong Delta City of Can Tho from the UK on March 22.

Upon her arrival, she developed fever, cough, shortness of breath and was taken to a centralized quarantine facility in Can Tho City.

Patient 155  is a 21-year old female student from Hung Yen Province. She flew from the UK to Can Tho Province on March 22 on flight VN0050.

Patient 156 is a 21-year old male student from the Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh.

He landed in Can Tho City on March 22 from the UK on flight VN0050.

He has been transferred to and quarantined at the General Hospital of Bac Lieu Province.

Patient 157 is a 31-year old woman who has been teaching English in Ho Chi Minh city.

She contracted the virus after having been in close contact with a previously announced patient who visited the Buddha Bar.

Patient 158 is a Brazilian man, aged 45, who has been living in Ho Chi Minh City.

He contracted the virus after having been in close contact with a previously announced patient who visited the Buddha Bar.

Patient 159 is also a Brazilian man, aged 33, who has been living in Ho Chi Minh City.

He was tested positive for the virus after having been in close contact with a previously announced patient who visited the Buddha Bar.

Patient 160 is a 30-year old Vietnamese woman residing in Bao Loc city of Lam Dong Province.

She had been in close contact with her sister, also a COVID-19 patient, while she was in Spain.

On March 22, she landed in Ho Chi Minh City after transiting in Moscow, Russia on flight SU605.

Patient 161 is a 88-year old woman from Van Lam District of the northern province of Hung Yen.

Between March 17-22, she was in the same treatment room at Ha Noi’s Bach Mai Hospital with another patient who was then confirmed having the virus.

Patient 162 is a 63-year old daughter –in-law of the above woman.

Patient 163 is a 43-year old niece of the patient 162.

Of the total infections confirmed in Viet Nam so far, 20 people have recovered and exited hospitals./.
