Tien Giang imposes social distancing from mid-Saturday due to COVID-19

VGP – Authorities of the southern province of Tien Giang on Friday decided to impose social distancing in the entire locality in accordance with Government’s Directive No. 15/CT-TTg, starting from mid-Saturday until next notice.

June 11, 2021 8:17 PM GMT+7

The decision was made six days after the three community infection cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the locality from June 5.

Under Directive No. 15 issued on March 27, 2020, all events and meetings with more than 20 participants in a room shall be banned.

A gathering of 10 people and more outside public offices, schools and hospitals is not allowed.

People are required to keep a distance of at least two meters from each other in public places while all service establishments are required to close, except for those selling essential goods and services.

Travel will be restricted from pandemic-hit areas to other localities.

The local authorities called on citizens to stay calm and join hands to push back the COVID-19 outbreaks, only leave home if really neccesary, regularly wash hands and wear masks at public places.

As of 6:13 pm on June 11, Viet Nam confirmed 9,980 COVID-19 cases, including 6,780 community infections recorded in 39 out of 63 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth COVID-19 wave broke out./.
