Top 10 events of Viet Nam’s industry and trade sector in 2019

VGP – The trade turnover exceeding US$500 billion, the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) taking effect, and the official signing of the European Union-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) are among the most talked about events of Viet Nam’s industry and trade sector in 2019.

 Viet Nam’s solar energy capacity reaches approximately 5,000 MW

1. The foreign trade surpassing US$500 billion ranked first in the list of ten most significant industry and trade events of the year, which was recently announced by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The result was achieved amid the declining global economic and trade growth due to the impacts of trade conflicts and the strategic competition between major economies, especially the trade tensions between the United States and China.

2. Viet Nam implemented its integration policy in a stronger fashion with the CPTPP officially taking effect and the EVFTA being officially signed.

3. The State management over the fight against trade remedies evasion, trade fraud and origin frauds was strengthened, contributing significantly to stabilizing the market.

4. Becoming the first ministry connecting to the national public service portal which was officially launched on December 9, 2019 in the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Chairman of the National Committee on E-Government.
