President Xi once again congratulated Viet Nam on its 75th National Day as well as the achievements gained by the Vietnamese people over the past 75 years.

Xi expressed his belief that the Vietnamese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, will reap greater achievements in their national construction and development cause and successfully organize the party congresses at all levels and the 13th National Party Congress.

The Party and State of China attach great importance to the neighboring and traditionally friendly relations with Viet Nam, stressed Xi.

He affirmed that China will continue proactive support for Viet Nam to well undertake the roles as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in the tenure 2020-2021 and ASEAN 2020 Chair.

The Chinese leader also said he is willing to enhance strategic exchanges with Vietnamese senior leaders to promote practical and effective cooperation across fields in order to further broaden and deepen the bilateral ties and to contribute to peace and stability in the region and the world.

Xi spoke highly of Viet Nam’s outcomes in combatting the COVID-19 pandemic and the sides’ cooperation in this fight.

For his side, Trong extended congratulations on China’s 71st National Day, wishing that the Chinese people will gain greater achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.

The top Vietnamese leader emphasized that 2020 is an important milestone in the bilateral diplomatic ties, affirming that over the past seven decades, friendship and cooperation has always been the mainstream of the relationship between Viet Nam and China though it has experienced ups and downs.

The two countries have organized a series of activities in flexible forms since the beginning of this year, contributing to strengthening the bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in a healthy and stable manner.

Trong suggested both sides step up practical cooperation, all-level and people-to-people exchanges, and consolidate mutual trust and understanding in order to create a firm social foundation for the bilateral ties.

Both sides should work together to address their existing issues, especially sea-related ones, in accordance with the common perceptions reached by the sides’ leaders, and international law, thus contributing to maintaining a peaceful and stable environment conducive to the development of each country./.
