Top leaders receive Lao Party chief, President

VGP - Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong on October 28 hosted a reception for his Lao counterpart Bounnhang Vorachith who is on a Viet Nam visit to attend the ceremony to mark the 70th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers and Experts in Laos..

At the reception, Bounnhang Vorachith expressed his delight at the special solidarity and robust relations between the two countries which have been developed in various sectors and brought practical benefit to each people.

He took the occasion to thank Viet Nam’s whole-hearted support in the past years, affirming Laos will coordinate with Viet Nam to carry out agreements inked between the two Parties and States, contributing to elevating the great friendship, special solidary and comprehensive cooperation to a new high.

The Lao National Assembly will work closely with its Vietnamese counterpart to effectively implement their cooperation agreements as well as agreements between the two parties and states, he affirmed.

The Lao leader spoke highly of the roles of the Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts in Laos, saying they made great contributions to the Lao revolution.

In turn, Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong described his Lao counterpart's visit as a source of encouragement for the Vietnamese Party, State, army and people, especially former Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts in Laos. 

The Party leader leader highlighted the close fraternity between the two nations who have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with each other in their struggles for national liberation and construction. 

He also congratulated Laos on its remarkable achievements gained after three years of implementing the resolution of the 10th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP).

Mr. Trong expressed his pleasure that the special relationship between Viet Nam and Laos has been further deepened in all fields, to which the two countries’ parliaments have made active contributions.

On the same day, Lao Party General Secretary and President Bounnhang Vorachith had a meeting with Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Bounnhang Vorachith expressed his delight at the impressive achievements by the Vietnamese Party, State and people in the past time, and stressed the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations which have stood the test of time.

He affirmed Laos will continue educating its younger generations about the Viet Nam – Laos relations, and further efforts to nurture the ties./.
