Two more patients cleared of COVID-19, total recovered patients rise to 203

VGP – Two more COVID-19 infection cases in the southern province of Bac Lieu have been cleared of COVID-19 and discharged from hospital on April 19, bringing the total number of recovered patients in Viet Nam to 203.

As of early April 19, no new COVID-19 infection case has been reported in Viet Nam over the past three days.

With two more added, the recovery rate in the nation reaches 76%, according to the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

They include patient numbered 156, who is a 21-year old male student from the Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh.

He landed in Can Tho City on March 22 on flight VN0050 from the UK.

He has been quarantined and treated at the General Hospital of Bac Lieu Province since March 27.

The other is patient 241, who is a 20-year old male student living in District 2 of Ho Chi Minh City.

He returned to Viet Nam on March 22 on flight VN0050 from the UK and was taken to a centralized camp in the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu.

He has been treated at the hospital since April 1.

The pair will isolate themselves at places of residence and have their health monitored over the next 14 days.

So far, Viet Nam has confirmed 268 infection cases, of whom 160 have been imported cases, while 108 have contracted the virus in the community, accounting for 59.7% and 40.3%, respectively.

No new infection case has been reported over the past three days.
