VGP – The PM has ratified two projects, which are sponsored by the United Nations Development Program in the phase from 2012-2016.

January 14, 2013 5:28 PM GMT+7

Specifically, the project of strengthening the capacity for budgetary decision and oversight of people’s elected bodies in Viet Nam will be realized by the National Assembly Financial Budget Committee through the UNDP’s non-refundable aid of US$2.3 million.

The aim of the project is to strengthen capacity of the National Assembly and provincial People’s Councils to oversee the functioning of the executive to represent the interests of the public.

The second project, which improves the capacity of making and implementing natural resource and environment policies and laws, with the total non-refundable aid of US$2.79 million, will be launched by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

The corresponding capital for these two projects will be extracted from the annual budget of the host agencies.

The PM assigned the host agencies to coordinate with UNDP representative office in Viet Nam and other related agencies to establish, ratify and sign the annual working plans and implement the projects.
