U.S. announces donation of additional one mln vaccine doses to Viet Nam
VGP – U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris announced donation of addition one million Pfizer mRNA vaccines dose to Viet Nam during his meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Wednesday.

She also said the U.S. will continue to provide medical supplies and help improve Viet Nam’s capacity to respond to other health threats in the long run.
Harris, the first sitting U.S. Vice President to visit Viet Nam, reaffirmed the her country supports a strong, independent, and prosperous Viet Nam.
She promised that the U.S. will continue to give priority to fostering cooperation with the Southeast Asian country in such fields like economy, trade, climate change adaptation, science and technology, and healthcare.
The U.S. pledged to continue assistance for Viet Nam in overcoming war consequences, joining UN-led peacekeeping operations, and strengthening maritime security capabilities.
Meanwhile, PM Pham reassured that Viet Nam remains consistent in pursuing the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance and diversification and multilateralization of external relations, proactive and active international integration.
Viet Nam attaches importance to further advancing the comprehensive partnership with the U.S. in an increasingly practical, effective and stable manner for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world, emphasized Pham.
He extended sincere thanks to the American Administration and people for having donated vaccines and medical supplies to Viet Nam, welcoming the launch of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Southeast Asia Regional Office in Ha Noi.
Comparing notes on regional and international situation, the two sides emphasized the central role of AEAN over the East Sea, Mekong and Myanmar issues as well as the principles of respecting international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea in cooperation and settlement of regional issues, of ensuring security, safety and freedom of navigation and aviation at sea./.
