The VAT refund will be made on a trial basis from July 1 to June 30, 2014, with 85% of the tax being refunded.
The Deputy General Director of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, Nguyen Van Can, said the VAT refund for foreigners is in line with international practice and Vietnam’s conditions, and helps boost their good purchases in the country.
Two local banks, BIDV and VietinBank, are in charge of the point in HCM City, and two others, Vietcombank and Maritime Bank in charge of the one in the capital.
