VN Airlines to open two domestic air routes

VGP – Việt Nam Airlines has announced that it will open two direct air routes connecting Hà Nội with Vinh City in the central province of Nghệ An and Chu Lai in the Central Quảng Nam Province.

Since May 12, the national flag carrier will open five flights per week for the Hà Nội-Vinh air route on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, using ATR72 aircraft.

The Hà Nội-Chu Lai air route will be kick-started on June 2 with four Fokker-70 flights per week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. 

Between May 12 and June 6, the carrier will offer one-way tickets worth of VND 300,000 (excluding taxes and other fees) for the Hà Nội-Vinh air route. Meanwhile, passengers flying in the Hà Nội-Chu Lai route on June 2-20 will have to pay only VND 400,000 for one way (excluding taxes and other fees).  

With the opening of the two new air routes, Việt Nam Airlines will be able to exploit 35 domestic routes.

It was reported that the carrier handled 2.9 million passengers in Q1, up 29% in number against the same period last year, and earned pre-tax profit of VND 85 billions.
