This is the first cooperative deal of this kind between Việt Nam and a Latin American country.

Under the memorandum of understanding signed in the visit of the Drug Administration of Việt Nam delegation led by Vice Director Nguyễn Việt Hùng to Argentina from November 2-7, the two sides will soon sign a framework agreement on strengthening cooperation on research, technical assistance, professional training and experience exchange in the control and surveillance of medicines, vaccines and medical bio-products.

In the working session with ANMAT Director Ricardo Martínez and visits to pharmaceutical firms in Argentina, the Vietnamese delegation informed thehosts about Việt Nam’s policies on promoting the trade of medicines and encouraging investment in medicine production.

The Vietnamese side proposed the Government of Argentina to create favorable conditions for its pharmaceutical firms to complete legal procedures so that they will invest in Việt Nam soon.

According to statistics from the Drug Administration of Việt Nam, nine Argentine pharmaceutical companies have exported medicines to Việt Nam, one licensed to trade in medicines in the country, and another is waiting for the similar license.
