VN, Bulgaria boost wide-ranging cooperation
VGP – Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan and his Bulgarian counterpart, Simeon Diankov, have shown their determination to launch a new bilateral cooperation model proposed by the Bulgarian Government and President Rossen Plevneliev this year.
The determination was made at a talks on September 3 between the two government leaders in Bulgaria during Deputy PM Nhan’s working visit to the European country.
The proposed cooperation model will allow the Bulgarian side to process imported Vietnamese semi-processed products right at its entry ports before exporting them to other European markets.
At the talks, the Vietnamese leader praised active changes and achievements in socio-economic development Bulgaria has made in the recent times.
The Deputy PM also applauded the successful organization of the 22nd session of the Viet Nam-Bulgaria Inter-Governmental Committee in June this year, saying it helps create favorable conditions for the two sides to boost up multi-faceted cooperation.
Deputy PM Simeon Diankov, who is also Minister of Finance, affirmed that with the fine traditional friendship, economic ties between Vietnam and Bulgaria relations will be growing in the future.
He also made proposals for cooperation in education, culture and art between ministries and agencies of the two sides.
Two way trade turnover between Vietnam and Bulgaria reached US $86 million and US $70 million in 2010 and 2011, respectively. It was valued at US $35 million in the first half of 2012.
Bulgaria is investing in seven Foreign Direct Investment projects in Viet Nam with a total capital of US$30 million.
