The PM made the point at his meeting with visiting Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Bulgaria Tsetska Tsacheva on April 16.

Active development in bilateral relations over the past times has brought about practical benefits for both countries, said the Vietnamese Government chief.

PM Dũng suggested the two countries continue to launch cooperative programs and put forth new ones, especially in the fields of economics, trade and investment in order to lift up the two-way trade turnover to a new high.

He also asked Bulgaria to recognize Việt Nam as a market economy, increase its official development assistance for Việt Nam and help the Southeast Asian country to expand the relations with other European countries.

The Vietnamese leader took the occasion to thank Bulgaria for its valuable assistance to Việt Nam in the past struggle for national liberation and the current national construction cause.

Ms. Tsetska Tsacheva affirmed Bulgaria’s consistent policy to enhance the multi-faceted ties with Việt Nam. She proposed the two countries sign an agreement on crime prevention.

Both the host and the guest agreed to boost mutual support in regional and international forums and delegation exchanges at all levels.

Earlier on the same day, Ms Tsetska Tsacheva held talks with her Vietnamese counterpart Nguyễn Sinh Hùng.
