VN, Cambodia accelerate defense cooperation

VGP – Cambodian Deputy PM and Minister of National Defense Tea Banh paid an official visit to Viet Nam on January 15-16 at the invitation of Vietnamese Minister of National Defense Phung Quang Thanh.

Minister Thanh welcomed the official visit of Mr. Tea Banh to Viet Nam and highly valued the relationship between the two nations.

He thanked the Cambodian Government and the Minister of National Defense for their assistance for Viet Nam in seeking and gathering the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers fallen in their country.

Mr. Tea Banh applauded the comprehensive relations between the two nations, especially in national defense.

He confirmed that Cambodia treasures the traditional relationship with Viet Nam and will do its utmost to protect and develop the relations.

The two leaders agreed that the two nations effectively cooperated in launching agreements on training, especially maintaining stability and peace at border areas in 2013.

After the meeting, the two Ministers signed a cooperative plan between the two ministries in 2014.
