The host Deputy PM, Mr. Ke Kim Yan, stated that the visit of the Vietnamese delegation plants a new important landmark in cementing and deepening the friendship and traditional neighborhood between Việt Nam and Cambodia.

The two sides agreed to expand the collaboration among their competent forces, especially at the grassroots level and along the borderline, in fighting against drug criminals.

Bilateral cooperation should be enlarged into other fields, such as detoxification and campaigning for anti-drug in border areas, both sides said.

The Vietnamese side pledged to dispatch experts to help Cambodia build up its own national rehabilitation center.

Việt Nam will also open more training workshops for Cambodian anti-drug forces on combating drug criminals and treating drug addicts.

Also at the working session, Deputy PM Trương Vĩnh Trọng presented some of Việt Nam’s experience of drug control, underlining vocational training and job generation for rehabilitated addicts.

The Government of Việt Nam, revealed Mr. Trọng, is designing and implementing a plan on free-drug communes and wards.

He suggested competent agencies of the two countries meet once every year to share experience and review cooperation programs on drug addiction and HIV/AIDS control.
