VN, Chile enjoy robust trade ties in Q1

VGP – The two-way trade volume between Vietnam and Chile in Q1 this year reached over US$175 million, an increase of 85% against the same period of 2011. 

Of the figure, Vietnam shipped US$43.782 million of goods to Chile, reported Chilean Foreign Trade Promotion Agency-ProChile.

Vietnam’s key exports to Chile include footwear, cement, garments and tra fish while its key imports are copper, seafood, fir and steel scrap.

Last year, the bilateral trade value hit a record high of US$486.84 million, up 50.24% against 2010.

Analysts forecast that as the bilateral free trade agreement started taking into force, the trade linkages would sharply rise in the coming time./.
