VN, China aim at increased comprehensive cooperation

VNGOVNet – National Assembly Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng and his entourage had talks with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China Wu Pangguo in the afternoon of April 09.

In the talks, NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng informed that, after the successful 11th session of Vietnam's 11th National Assembly, the Vietnamese NA is now proactively preparing for the 12th NA election. He reconfirmed that Vietnam observes a consistent diplomatic policy of independence, self-reliance, and openness, with diversified and multilateral international relations, under the motto "Vietnam is ready to be friend and reliable partner of other countries, striving for peace, independence and development". Vietnam's Communist Party, NA, State and people are trying best to foster the good relationship between Vietnam and China.

Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng stressed that his visit to China aims to further solidify the bilateral comprehensive cooperation in line with the principles of "friendly neighborhood, comprehensive cooperation, long-standing stability, looking toward the future" and "good neighborhood, good friendship, good comradeship, and good partnership". 

Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng and his Chinese counterpart agreed that the cooperation between the two national assemblies on multilateral forums are becoming close and effective, contributing more initiatives to regional and international inter-parliamentary organizations. The two Chairmen also agreed to foster this cooperation through exchanging delegations, sharing experience, and collaborating each other on inter-parliamentary forums. They were convinced that the National Assembly of each country will take active part in making the cooperation between the two governments more fruitful.

Previously, NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng had met Chairman of the People's Political Consultative Conference Jia Qinglin. Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng showed his pleasure to see the increased cooperation between the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) and China's People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). He applauded the two sides for signing a memorandum of understanding on cooperation. Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng expressed his hope that, in the time to come, VFF and CPPCC will continue to play their important political role in the cause of national construction and development. Chairman Jia Qinglin affirmed that the CPPCC will strive best to enhance the Vietnam-China friendship./.
