VN, China to sign border management regulations in 2008

VNGOP - The 22nd Chairman-level session of the Việt Nam-China Joint Committee for Land Border Demarcation and Landmark Planting took place in Beijing from October 28 to November 6.

The two sides agreed on the results recorded after the 21st Joint Committee session and noted the need to speed up the demarcation of land border and the planting of landmarks.

An agreement was reached on continuing to implement the measures adopted at the 13th round of the Governmental negotiation on border and territories and the 19th Chairman-level session of the Việt Nam-China Joint Committee for Land Border Demarcation and Landmark Planting.

The officials agreed to work together toward preserving the stability along the two countries’ borderline and creating favorable conditions for the land demarcation and landmark planting roadmap to be completed with the signing of a new regulation on border management in 2008.

The 23rd session will be held in Việt Nam.
