VN Confirms Six New Imported COVID-19 Cases

The latest cases include four Vietnamese nationals (Patient 2807, Patient 2808, Patient 2809, and Patient 2810) repatriated from Japan and two Indian experts (Patient 2811 and Patient 2812).

The Vietnamese nationals arrived at Quang Ninh Airport on April 20 and were admitted to Thai Binh General Hospital.   

The Indian experts landed at Noi Bai International Airport on April 18 and were sent for quarantine in Yen Bai Province. They are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi's Dong Anh District.

Of the national patient tally, 1,570 are locally-transmitted infections, including 910 cases documented since January 27.

Ten provinces and cities have gone 68 days without community infection cases namely Hoa Binh, Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Binh Duong, Hung Yen, Bac Giang, Gia Lai, Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh, and HCMC.

Ha Noi and Hai Phong saw no new cases of local infections over the past 65 days and 58 days, respectively. Hai Duong, the epicenter of the third wave of local transmissions has gone 28 days with zero local infection.

As many as 1,968 people got their first jabs on April 21, bringing the total number of vaccinated people to 108,897 in 27 provinces and cities./.
