VN, Czech Republic boost cooperation in crime control

VGP - Czech Minister of Interior Milan Chovanec and Vietnamese Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang have agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in fighting against crimes, particularly those related to drug, transnational organization, hi-tech and illegal immigration.

The two officials made the agreement duringtheir July 7 talks in Prague as part of Quang’s official visit to the European country at the invitation of Czech Minister Milan Chovanec.

Chovanec valued the visit and hoped that it would help elevate the two countries’ traditional friendship to a new height.

Quang congratulated the Czech Government and people on their achievements in national construction and development, saying that the Vietnamese Government and people were always grateful for the support of people of Czechoslovakia in the past and the Czech Republic today.

Quang affirmed that during the past 64 years, the traditional friendship has been unceasingly strengthened and developed and the relations between the two ministries have seen important outcomes, becoming more practical, contributing to ensuring security and order in each country.

The two officials agreed to enhance information and experience sharing between the two ministries in fighting against crimes related to both countries’ citizens, coordinate in ensuring security and safety for investment and trade activities, as well as protect legitimate rights and interests of both countries’ citizens and representative missions.

Earlier, Quang and his entourage visited the Vietnamese Embassy and the office of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Viet Nam in the Czech Republic and met with the Vietnamese community in the host country.
