The Government chief made the statement while delivering a speech at the French Institute of International Relations on September 24.

Both sides also need to stop preferences for unilateral might, groundless claims, and actions that run counter to international law and stem from imposition and power politics, he added.

The reason for the two countries to enhance cooperation, as PM Dung said, is that we feel the heat of strategic competition, especially among big countries and the rub of different cultural, historic and human values.

Viet Nam and France can do it as the bilateral ties are formulated on the basis of mutual respect, historical, cultural and human values that should be nurtured in order to contribute to peace, cooperation and development in both Asia and Europe.

According to PM Dung, the two countries will elevate the bilateral ties to strategic partnership which is expected to open a new chapter of cooperation on the basis of sincerity, mutual trust and respect.

The bilateral cooperation will be expanded to various fields ranging from politics-diplomacy, economics, culture, science and technology to national defense and security.

PM Dung stressed that both countries have responsibility to coordinate with new ways of thinking and creative approaches to deepen the relationship for mutual benefits./.
