PM Nguyen Tan Dung made the statement on October 31 while receiving Mr. Szijjártó Péter, Hungarian State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations, who is participating on a Hungarian-Vietnamese economic joint committee meeting in Hanoi.

The host leader asserted that the two countries should prioritize economic, trade and investment cooperation, adding that Viet Nam always facilitates foreign investors, including those from Hungary, to do long-term business here.

He also affirmed that Viet Nam supports Hungary to strengthen and consolidate ties with ASEAN countries.

According to Mr. Szijjártó Péter, in its Eastwards policy, Hungary places importance on cooperation with Viet Nam and will do its best to deepen the bilateral economic ties for mutual benefits.

Apart from economy, Mr. Szijjártó Péter also suggested other fields for bilateral cooperation, including health care, science, and education.
