VGP – Two-way trade between Việt Nam and Indonesia is likely to hit US $5 billion in 2012, instead of 2015 as set previously, according to the Indonesian Ministry of Trade and the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia.

Two-way trade was valued at US$4.5 billion in 2011 and US$359.3 million in January 2012.

Last month, Việt Nam exported nearly US $197.6 million in products to Indonesia, while importing over US $161.7 million worth of goods from the regional country.

Việt Nam plans to export US $2.7 billion in goods to Indonesia this year.

During the official visit by PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng to Indonesia late last year, leaders of the two countries agreed to strengthen the bilateral economic and trade relations, targeting two-way trade value of US $5 billion in 2015.
