VN, Japan foster cooperative ties

VGP – Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải on Wednesday sought ways to increase multifaceted ties with Japan during his talks with Japanese State Foreign Secretary Takeaki Matsumoto there.

On behalf of the Government and people of Việt Nam, Deptuy PM Hoàng Trung Hải expressed sympathy for Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims, hoping that the country of Sunrise would soon surmount difficulties and move forward.

The Japanese State Foreign Secretary thanked Việt Nam for its material and spiritual assistance to Japanese victims, saying after the incidents, Japanese and Vietnamese ties have been further cemented and strengthened. 

At the talks, both sides hoped to boost exchanges of reciprocal visits at all levels with a view to forging stronger wide-ranging cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides also touched upon ODA issues and agreed to implement large-scale projects, especially on infrastructure in the coming time.

The same day, Deputy PM Hải also hosted separated receptions for leaders of the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) and representatives of some leading Japanese corporations.

The Deputy PM highlighted the fact that Japanese businesses operating in Việt Nam have made great contributions to the friendly ties between Việt Nam and Japan. 

The Vietnamese Government welcomes Japanese players’ plans to expand their footholds in Việt Nam especially in such domains as infrastructure, mechanical industry, auxiliary industries, and education, said Mr. Hải.

The representatives of the Japanese business circle thanked the Vietnamese Government for creating favorable conditions for their projects and showed their optimism about the investment environment in Việt Nam./.
