VN, Kuwait aim to boost friendship and cooperation

During the meetings and talks, leaders of the Vietnamese State, Government and National Assembly all emphasized that Vietnam will strive best to maintain the friendship and cement cooperation with Kuwait. The Vietnamese National Assembly pledged to support the Government in implementing bilateral commitments. State President Nguyễn Minh Triết highly valued Kuwait's ideas to cooperate with Vietnam. The Vietnamese leaders expressed their desire that ministries, sectors and enterprises of the two countries will speed up their cooperation projects.

PM Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah confirmed that the Kuwait is impressed by Vietnam's great achievements in the cause of national renovation.

The guest informed that Kuwait is willing to cooperate with Vietnam in various spheres. Kuwaiti airlines will negotiate with Vietnam Airline to found joint-ventures soon. He said that Vietnam is the 39th country whose citizens can be granted with visas at Kuwait's airports. Kuwait is also ready to receive Vietnamese laborers and its embassy will be opened and the permanent ambassador dispatched to Vietnam, the guest added.

PM Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah conveyed his Emir's invitation to President Nguyễn Minh Triết to pay a visit to Kuwait. He himself also gave a similar invitation to PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng.

After their talks, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and his Kuwaiti counterpart witnessed the signing ceremony of the Vietnam-Kuwait Agreement on investment encouragement and protection; the Protocol on establishing the joint committee for economic, scientific and technical cooperation; and the cooperation agreement between the Vietnam Chamber for Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Kuwait equivalent (KCCI).
