VN, Laos boost defence cooperation

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung highly valued the working visit of Lieutenant General Suvon Luongbunmi, Chief of the General Staff of the Lao People’s Army and Lao Deputy Defence Minister to beef up the defense cooperation between the two countries.

At the reception on October 19 in Ha Noi for the Laos guest, the Government leader hailed the outcomes of the recent talks between Lieutenant General Suvon Luongbunmi and General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Viet Nam People Army and Deputy Defence Minister.

He emphasized that Viet Nam and Laos have enjoyed the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation.

The Party, State and people of Viet Nam always respect and spare no effort to cement and deepen the special ties in favor for practical benefits, said PM Dung.

The Vietnamese Government always attaches importance to and pave the favorable way for workable cooperation between the two Chiefs of the General Staff and Ministries of National Defense.

For his part, Mr. Suvon Luongbunmi expressed his hope to boost the friendship and mutual understanding between armies of the two countries.

He also affirmed that Laos will do its utmost to nurture the bilateral ties and successfully implement the signed agreements between the two Ministries of National Defense./.
