The survey was carried out by the United Nations in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.

MICS focuses on children and women in the fields of nutrition, health care, clean water, sanitation, education as well as their capacity of protecting themselves from HIV/AIDS and domestic violence.

The survey finds in Việt Nam, 95% of children under five have been registered at their birth.

As many as 40.1% of children from one to two have been fully immunized. Almost females from 15 to 49 have received health care at least once before giving birth.

Almost women from 15-24 have learnt about HIV transmission, accounting for 96.5% and one out of three have undergone HIV tests.

Indexes provided by MICS4 will help policy-makers identify and orient assistance to the groups that need most care, which should be regarded as the cornerstone of efforts to boost mutal development. This can help women and children of all nationalities get benefits from economic growth rate.
