The Party chief reiterated Việt Nam’s consistent policy to place importance on the comprehensive strategic ties with the Northeast Asian country in the interests of respective peoples, and peace, stability as well as prosperity in the region.

The Vietnamese Party General Secretary also underlined the roles played by the two countries’ National Assemblies for better bilateral ties.

He hoped that the two legislative bodies would speed up friendly exchanges and share experience and information with each other.

Receiving the Korean guest, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng assessed that the RoK has become one of the leading trade partners of Việt Nam.

Besides economic ties, the Government chief also suggested Việt Nam and the RoK foster cooperation in other fields including vocational and language training, security, national defense and ODA provision.

The guest leader expressed his hope that Việt Nam would link the RoK with other ASEAN member states.

Finally, both the host and the guest acknowledged cultural similarities between the two countries, stressing the necessity to spur cultural linkages for further understanding between their peoples.
