VN, Russia share experiences on establishment of e-Government

VGP – Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung said that the Vietnamese Government is concerned about improving the capacity of preventing cyber attacks and information leakage as well as upholding Vietnamese enterprises’ abilities in this field.

Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung and Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media M.V. Mamonov co-chaired a working session on experience sharing on the establishment of e-Government in Viet Nam on February 18 in Ha Noi. 

The meeting aims to realize the memorandum of understanding between the two agencies on the establishment and development of e-Government, which was inked in December 2018.   

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Dung said that the Government, the PM and leaders of ministries and agencies have paid attentions to boosting the development of e-Government, heading to a digital Government, economy and society in line with administrative reform, regarding people and business as center. 

The PM set up the National Committee for e-Government and assigned the Government Office to join with the Ministry of Information and Communications and other relevant ministries and localities to establish the Government’s Resolution on tasks and measures to boost the development of e-Government in the 2019-2020 phase, with orientations towards 2025. 

Four pillars will be focused on including human, institution/procedure, technology and resources, he said, adding that some plans on the establishment of integrated data sharing platform and operation of the national public service portal to accelerate online public service supply will be launched. 

The improvement of services through public administrative service center will be enhanced and smart urban areas will also be built, he added. 

Mr. M.V. Mamonov said that the delegation will share experiences with Viet Nam in e-Government establishment, expecting to coordinate with the Vietnamese side in training specialists and staff in information technology and cyber security.
