Over the past time, the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has proactively supported the Vietnamese Government to realize the Education Universalizing Program, helping speed up activities in the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.

The UNESCO Office in Vietnam has significantly contributed to the preservation of material and immaterial cultural treasures throughout the country. The Office also took part in the campaign to recognize the Cát Bà Islands and coastal flooded areas in the Red River Delta and Kiên Giang Province as the World Biosphere Reserves.

UNESCO’s assistance and cooperation with Vietnam in education, culture, science and information have helped to facilitate the country’s development as well as international integration, the PM confirmed.
