VGP – Việt Nam and Belgium’s French-speaking Brussels-Wallonie region have agreed to beef up cooperation on tertiary education, bio-technology, pharmaceutical chemistry, bio-chemistry, medicine, foodstuff, aviation and space, cultural heritage, and vocational training.

The two sides reached the agreement on November 12 in Hà Nội at the 7th session of the Joint Standing Committee for Việt Nam and Wallonie-Brussels chaired by the Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyễn Thế Phương and General Director of the Wallonie-Brussels International Cooperation Agency Philippe Suinen.

At the session, the Wallonie-Brussels side pledged to offer over US $2 million to fund more than 30 cooperation programs in the 2010-2012 period.

Besides, over 2 million will be supplemented to a technical and vocational training program.

The two sides acknowledged that most of the cooperation projects in the period of 2007-2009 were fruitful and have met the pre-set targets.
